The Complete Treatment Train

Stormwater treatment is not one-size-fits-all. Sediment, oils, metals, trash, and nutrients behave differently, which means each pollutant requires the right treatment strategy. Jensen engineers complete treatment trains that pair upstream pretreatment with separation, filtration, and biofiltration to deliver the level of performance your permit demands.

From NPDES Phase II and MS4 requirements to state general permits and site-specific SWPPPs, we design each system around your site conditions, pollutant profile, and approval pathway, giving you a coordinated stormwater solution from one trusted partner.

Stormwater treatment, detention, and pump station systems need to work together. Because Jensen builds them all, your treatment train and storage system are engineered as a complete, coordinated solution from one partner.

How Stormwater Treatment Works

Stormwater treatment works by capturing and cleaning runoff before it reaches receiving waters. As stormwater flows through a treatment system, sediment settles out, trash and floatables are screened, oils and hydrocarbons are separated, and finer pollutants can be removed through filtration or biofiltration. The right treatment train matches these processes to the site’s pollutant profile, flow rates, and permit requirements.

Products

Jensen Deflective Separator

Certified for Full Trash Capture by the California Water Board, the JDS uses non-clogging screening and separation to remove trash, floatables, sediment, debris, and hydrocarbons with minimal head loss. Compact, efficient, and easy to maintain, the JDS is built for highperformance treatment in space-constrained urban environments.

AtlanFilter

NJDEP Certified media filtration for TSS, metals, and nutrients. AtlanFilter’s modular cartridge design scales to match project flow rates, while active backwash helps maintain treatment performance and simplifies long-term maintenance.

Biofiltration

Engineered bioretention optimized for high flow rates and pollutant removal. Combines natural treatment processes with precast reliability and consistent performance. Meets LID and green infrastructure requirements.

Baffle Box

City of Sacramento-approved, volume-based treatment in a baffled precast vault. The Jensen Baffle Box captures the water quality volume, promotes low-velocity settling, and removes sediment, trash, debris, oils, and floatables while helping attenuate peak flows.

ZeroTrash Baffle Box

ZeroTrash uses screening and baffled separation to capture trash, debris, gross solids, sediment, and floatables. Above-water debris storage helps reduce nutrient leaching and simplify maintenance, making it a compact, high-performance solution for pretreatment and full trash capture applications.

Caltrans Capture Housing

A patented Caltrans stormwater trash capture structure designed for roadway and transportation drainage systems. The Caltrans Capture Housing uses non-clogging wedge wire screening to capture trash and debris while maintaining hydraulic performance, supporting full trash capture compliance in compact, retrofit-friendly applications.

Coalescing Separator

Enhanced oil-water separation using oleophilic coalescing media that captures and combines oil droplets for efficient removal. Modular plates also support solids settling, lowmaintenance cleanout, and flexible integration into new or existing separator systems.

Diversion Structure

Precast structures designed to route stormwater to treatment, detention, or bypass systems while controlling flow split and hydraulic loading. Jensen diversion structures help integrate the full stormwater system with durable, project-specific performance.

SurgeFlow

An upflow stormwater filtration system that routes runoff through engineered media for targeted pollutant removal. SurgeFlo combines settling, filtration, and precast reliability in a compact system designed for efficient installation and maintenance.

Catch Basin Filters

A California Water Board Full Trash Capture-approved inlet filter that captures trash, debris, gross solids, and floatables at the catch basin. Full stainless steel construction provides durable, corrosion-resistant performance for municipal, roadway, and urban drainage applications.

Tested. Certified. Approved.

01

NJDEP Certified

Lab verified removal efficiencies under the New Jersey DEP protocol – the national benchmark for treatment device certification.

02

TAPE Approved

Washington State TAPE certification based on field verified treatment performance under real-world conditions.

03

CA Water Board

Certified Full Trash Capture treatment systems designed to capture 100% of trash, debris, and gross solids before discharge. Down to 5 mm.

How to Get Started

You have your workflow.

We fit into it, not the other way around.

01

Request Sizing

Share your hydrology data and storage requirements. Our engineers will size a system and return a preliminary layout.

02

Get Drawings Fast

Tell us your site constraints. We’ll turn around project-specific drawings in days, not weeks.

03

Engineering Review

We’ll review your design, confirm hydraulic calcs, verify agency compliance, and provide stamped submittals.

04

Installation Support

From delivery coordination to on-site technical support, we stay with your project through final inspection.

Complete Your System

Most projects need more than one solution. A detention system works best with pretreatment upstream, filtration downstream, and conveyance tying it all together. Add a pump station for reuse or lift applications.
